Lithuanian Population and Rare Diseases Biobank Campaign
This academic year, you will not only begin your student journey, but you will also have the chance to become a true hero of Lithuanian medical science! How? It’s very simple – by donating a blood sample to the Lithuanian Population and Rare Diseases Biobank.
Established within the structure of the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University (VU MF), the population biobank collects and preserves a unique collection of biological samples from the Lithuanian population. By studying these collected samples, scientists are shaping the medicine of the future.
The blood of each and every one of us has the potential to save thousands of lives in the future, so join in!
You will be able to donate blood to the biobank during the parade preparation workshops on August 28th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and August 31st from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the faculty premises (M. K. Čiurlionio St. 21, Room 129), as well as on September 2nd from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the VU Medical Science Center (Žaliųjų Ežerų St. 2). Please bring an ID document with you. Important: you must create an account in the biobank's online system beforehand.
